Marketplace safety tips

Marketplace safety depends on clear information, cautious communication, and fast reporting when something feels wrong. Zubbah provides tools to help — listing moderation, account context, and reporting — but your awareness and judgement are the most important layer of protection.

Report a concern

Buying safely

  • Review listing details, photos, price, and seller context before committing to a purchase.
  • Compare prices across similar listings to understand the market rate for the item.
  • Avoid pressure to pay before you understand the item and seller. Legitimate sellers are patient.
  • Meet in safe public places when an in-person exchange is needed. Bring someone with you if possible.
  • Keep conversations on the platform when practical. If you move to phone or messaging apps, keep records of important details.
  • Never send money in advance for an item you have not inspected. This includes deposits, holding fees, and shipping costs.

Selling safely

  • Keep listing details accurate. Misleading titles, photos, or descriptions erode buyer trust and may result in removal.
  • Set clear expectations about price, condition, pick-up or delivery, and payment method.
  • Use clear communication and keep proof of important transaction details — messages, receipts, and agreements.
  • Report abusive, suspicious, or manipulative messages immediately. Your report helps protect other sellers too.
  • Meet buyers in safe public places when exchanging items in person.

Reporting concerns

If you encounter a listing or message that seems unsafe, fraudulent, or inappropriate, use the report function on the listing or contact us directly. Provide as much context as possible. Every report is reviewed by our moderation team, and your information is kept confidential. Reporting something suspicious helps keep the entire marketplace safer.
